Traffic stop nets drugs

Prentiss Police Officer Chris Griffith noticed a suspicious vehicle around 1:00 a.m. last Thursday while on patrol.

After pulling the vehicle over for a traffic violation, he discovered drug paraphernalia on driver’s seat.

A full search of the vehicle resulted in confiscation of numerous syringes, two pair of scales to weigh narcotics, numerous bags used to package and distribute narcotics, the methamphetamine commonly known as “ICE”, oxycodone, hydrocodone, and $463.00 in US currency.

The driver, Shayna Clark, was charged with two counts possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance schedule III misdemeanor, and possession of paraphernalia.

The passenger, Eric Anthony, was charged with possession of paraphernalia and was wanted for probation violation in Lamar County.
