It’s the time of year for fall, football and festivals and for those who say there is nothing to do in Jeff Davis County, take it back right now! On the contrary, there is too much to do this season.

All three local football teams are at home this week with Prentiss Christian playing Brookhaven at home and the annual showdown of Bassfield vs. Prentiss on Friday night at Howard Willoughby Field.

Remember last year when the game had to be held on Saturday afternoon because Hurricane Isaac came through . . . What a relief to be hurricane-free this year.

The Longleaf Trace Arts and Crafts Market is being held for the third time this coming weekend at the Prentiss Farmers Market and it promises to be bigger than ever. For those early-birds who like to get their Christmas shopping out of the way, this is a great place to start.

Unity in the Community members will be tailgating Friday night at the PHS/BHS game and handing out free school supplies on Saturday evening 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Carson station of the Longleaf Trace.

Get out this weekend enjoy the good weather and all the county has to offer.
