Bless their heart…WLBT tried their best to talk intelligently about the tornado in Greens Creek, but it was near impossible seeing how not one of them weather reporters have ever been to our neck of the woods.

How did ya’ll like hearing Dyess Road pronounced DIE-ES?

We may excuse and the big national news chains, as they’re not expected to know us. Like when Anderson Cooper on CNN during Katrina said he was reporting from Meridian, Louisiana . . . he didn’t know any better, but when WLBT says “those showers down there in Jefferson Davis County are just outside our viewing area” it makes me feel just a bit unappreciated as a devoted viewer.

I wish we had a TV station that claimed us as being in their viewing area. Where is WDAM on my channel changer?

I go online sometimes to watch WDAM stories on us but my buffering internet service that resembles dial-up is not so great.

Maybe we should start our own tv station.

Hmmm…Yet another potential Jeff Davis County business.
