While you are out and about running errands this week, make a stop at your local hardware store and pick up a couple of numbers. Not talking about Powerball numbers here, but numbers to identify your home address.

Having your house numbered is a great help to a lot of folks that need to know the address of where you live.

You will most assuredly want to be found by Emergency 911 officials. When every second counts, having a house number that is visible from the street could make the difference between life and death.

And although we know where most people live in the Town of Prentiss, we here at The Headlight have had some trouble as of late identifying a few homes when hand-delivering papers.

Whether on your mailbox, a yard plaque, or on the front of your house, having a clear, visible number makes good sense.
