Jeff Davis County registered voters will be mailed address verification cards in the next several days.

Because of a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Rights Union, a consent decree was signed by the Jeff Davis County Election Commission agreeing to clean up voter rolls and make sure registrant information is accurate.

Voters will be asked to confirm if their 911 physical address and mailing address listed on the card is correct. Space is provided on the card for corrections.

“If you get a card, please fill it out and send it back,” says county attorney Wes Daughdrill.

Cards should be completed and returned as soon as possible, no later than December 1. Return postage has been pre-paid, so there will be no cost to the voters.
