Homes, businesses and churches within the city limits of Bassfield are encourage to decorate the outside of their home or building and win $100 in a decorating Christmas holiday contest.

In preparation for this Saturday’s Christmas parade, the town hopes to encourage all to decorate and show their Christmas spirit.

Awards of $100 will be presented to the winner of each category: home, business and church. Judging is by an impartial panel and is set to take place on Friday, December 13.

Bassfield Christmas Parade organizers are requesting that all floats and other parade entries line up at 1:15 p.m. at Carver Elementary School.

The parade will roll at 2:00 p.m. followed by entertainment, speakers and food vendors in Faler Park followed by a fireworks display at dusk.
