Isadock “Junebug” Williams, Jr.

Funeral services were held December 28, 2013, at Oak Ridge MB Church, New Hebron, for Mr. Isadock “Junebug” Williams, Jr., age 64, who died December 23 at St. Bernard Hospital, Chalmette, LA. Rev. Eric Dixon officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Isadock Williams, Jr. was born to the late Isadock and Katherine Williams in New Hebron. He accepted Christ and was baptized at Oak Ridge MB Church, New Hebron. His family relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana, where he graduated from George Washington Carver High School.
After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and attended Mississippi County Community College, where he met and married Lillie “Berniece” Robinson and to this union, three girls were born.
A former Louisiana State Trooper, Mr. Williams is also a retired Vietnam Veteran and a life member of the America Legion.
Upon moving back to New Hebron, post Hurricane Katrina, he rededicated his life to Christ and became an active member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church where he served in several church ministries and gave freely to the youth of the church.
He was preceded in death by brother Ray Anthon and sister Veronica.
He is survived by three daughters, Shelia (Calvin, Jr.) Lester of Shreveport, LA, Veronica Williams of Shreveport, LA, and Staci (Eric) Whiteside of Slidell, LA; four grandchildren; four brothers, Master Lewis (Shirley), thomas Neal, Ozzie Lee (Brenda), and Dwight (Tessie); three sisters, Dorothy (Curtis) Winnsboro, LA, Jocelyn (James) Jackson of Marrero, LA and Diane Glass; many other relatives and friends.
