JDC All-Stars team up to play Harlem Ambassadors

The JDC All-Stars held their first practice last week as they prepare to take on the Harlem Ambassadors on February 6, 2014, at 5:30 p.m. in the Prentiss High School Gymnasium.

There was a great team turnout and everyone seemed to enjoy the camaraderie and exercise. The JDC All-Star team is comprised of local leaders, educators, politicians, pastors, and supervisors.

Besides players shown in the photo below, other community leaders are also playing including Bobby Rushing, Eric Booth, Lester Magee, Ron Strickland, Leshia Graves, Ozell White, Jason Wambolt, Lance Garner, Charlie James, Gerald Hudson, Calvin Morgan, Jacques Poole and Stacy Clark.

“This event will exemplify solidarity and unity in the community. We want to exhibit positive community togetherness and show the people of Jefferson Davis County that we are here, and there is a place for everyone,” said Rev. Jessie Holloway, team head coach. The team will practice weekly as they strategize and prepare for the big game.

The Harlem Ambassadors show is quality family entertainment and is fun for audiences of all ages. Everyone attending the Harlem Ambassadors game will have the opportunity to meet the Ambassadors during a complimentary autograph signing following the game and an autographed game ball will be given away to one lucky fan.

In addition to the show, the Ambassadors will speak to the youth of our community through “Stay in School, Stay off Drugs” school assemblies held on the morning of February 6. Learn more about Harlem Ambassadors at www.harlemambassadors.com.

Tickets for the match-up are $5 for adults and $3 for children (free for children 4 and under) and are available at Bassfield and Prentiss City Hall, as well as the Jefferson Davis County Chamber Partnership office.

Concessions will be available during the game to provide drinks and snacks to the spectators. All proceeds will benefit the Jefferson Davis County Chamber Partnership.
