Donald Gary “B” Hall

Mr. Donald Gary “B” Hall, 63, died February 25, 2014, at the Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg. Services for Mr. Hall were held at the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, with the Mt. Zion Church family and Pastor Ozell White officiating. Interment was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, with Laird Mortuary, LLC in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hall was the oldest son of the late Octavia Hall and the late Ruby Lee Griffith Hall of the Cedar Grove Community of Jefferson Davis County. At an early age, he joined the Mr. Zion Church and remained a member until his death. Mr. Hall was reared and educated in the local area, graduating from J. E. Johnson High School in 1968, prior to working for 30 plus years at the Universal Magnetex in Mendenhall. After the Magnetex plant shut down, Mr. Hall worked for more that 10 years at the ECF of Jefferson Davis Community Hospital.

Mr. Hall married the former Gertrude Hill of Prentiss, and to this union a number of stepchildren were added, one of whom preceded him in death.

Mr. Hall’s survivors include his wife Gertrude H. Hall of Prentiss; one son, Chad Hall of Collins; one daughter, Kimberly Hall of Collins; three step-sons, Charles Fair, Christopher Walker, and Alonzo Knight, all of Prentiss; three sisters, Mary Joyce Jackson of Prentiss, Verline Hall and Sharon Hall, both of Gulfport; two brothers, Tracy Hall of Gulfport, and Marshall (Rose) Hall of Prentiss; 15 grandchildren; eight sisters-in-law, and three brothers-in-law.
