A funeral mass was held Saturday, March 22, 2014, at St. Peters Catholic Church in Bassfield, for Mr. John “Billy” Harrington, Jr., age 78, of Rowlett, TX, who passed away on March 17. Interment followed at St. James Cemetery. Father Peter Varghese and Father Kelleher officiated. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. John “Billy” William Harrington, Jr. was born November 4, 1935, in Bassfield, MS. He was the son of John William Harrington, Sr. and Mary Ethel Kerley Harrington. He was a veteran and served in the US Air Force. After moving to Texas, he worked for Lone Star Healthcare as a purchasing agent.

Mr. Harrington is survived by his wife, Anna Laura Harrington of Rowlett, TX; his sons, Richard Harrington of Rowlett, TX, and Johnny Harrington of Alvarado, TX; his daughter, Lydia Harrington of Princeton, TX; his four grandchildren; his brothers, Cahill Harrington and Charlie Harrington both of Bassfield, Kenneth Harrington of The Colony, TX, and David Harrington of LaCross, AR; and his sister, Mary “Sis” Coulter of Bassfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter and five brothers.
