Run for the Roses Arts & Crafts Market director Debi Lane states the 2014 arts and crafts market in Prentiss will be bigger and better than ever.

This year the market will be in the Longleaf Gateway Park April 12th and opens at 9 a.m. through 3 pm.

Lane says so far we have local artists and craftsmen bringing handmade items such as handmade quilts and cross-stitch, pine straw baskets, hair bows, reverse glass painting, wooden toys, water color paintings, ceramics, oil paintings, faux stain glass paintings,

American Girl Doll clothes, painted gourds, jewelry and scarves as well as booths with home grown turnip greens, specialty lettuce and mushrooms.

“William Lee will be here with his beautiful photos and a caricature artist will also be present,” states Lane.

“The Hoxies will be bringing their specialty lettuce and mushrooms and Patty Bridges will be bringing her wood art. Each booth will be quality arts and crafts that you just have to come and see for yourself!”

Lane will have her own unique ceramic and pottery booth and states there is still room for more. “If you have a unique craft this would be a good place to show your talents.” says Lane.

Food booths with sausage or chicken on a stick, funnel cakes, fish, pulled pork and hotdogs as well as sweets have already registered for the market.

Lane says there is room for more or if you want to have a food booth as a fundraiser for your organization or charity and will have something different from the foods listed you can contact her for details.    There is no charge but limited space and electric outlets and you have to register to participate. The Run for the Roses 5K Run/Walk Event is produced by the Jefferson Davis County Chamber Partnership. For more information on the run go to the website at www.runfortheroses5k.com.

Come participate in the run/walk and then relax while you enjoy good food and browse the booths for unique finds. American Idol Contestant Skylar Laine will also be performing. It will be a great day to be in Prentiss.
