Services for Patrick A. “Pat” Duncan were held March 27, 2014, at McClain-Hays Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Wright officiating. Burial followed in Eastlawn Cemetery in Philadelphia. McClain-Hays Funeral Home in Philadelphia was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Rex Branning, Bruce Branning, Eddie Henson, Tim McGee, Jeff McGee, Keith McGee, Blake Files, Aarron Skinner, and Robert Hembree.

Mr. Duncan, age 76, died March 21 at The Specialty Hospital of Meridian.

He was a native and longtime resident of the Tucker community in Neshoba County.

He was a retired brick/stone mason. Mr. Duncan was Catholic by faith.

He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the VFW.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Brenda Duncan of Philadelphia; son, Patrick Scott Duncan (Bianca) of Philadelphia; daughter, Melanie Le (Phi) of Dubai, UAE; grandson, Ethan Le; sister, JoAnn Clifton of Gadsden, AL; and a number of nieces, nephews and their families and many, many special

friends.

Mr. Duncan was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Birdie Duncan and brothers, Bill Duncan and Phillip Duncan.

 

Hilton Greene

Funeral services were held March 30, 2014, at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss for Mr. Hilton Greene, age 80, of Carson, who passed away on March 27. Interment followed at Carson Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements.

Rev. Robby Hathorn and Rev. Randy Easterling officiated.  Pallbearers were Josh McPherson, Jimmy Greene, Blake Shows, Dustin Carter, Wayne Bridges and William Campbell.

Mr. Samuel Hilton Greene was born on March 28, 1933, in Jefferson Davis County, MS. He was the son of Donnie C. Greene and Dora McPhail Greene. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean War. He worked at the City of Jackson Water Department for 28 years and retired as the chief operator.  He was a member of the National Water Works Association and Carson Methodist Church.

Mr. Greene is survived by his wife, Nancy McNease Greene of Carson; his son, Todd Greene of Harrisville; his daughter Renee’ McPherson of Braxton; his five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Barbara Bass of Prentiss and Wanda Johnson of Carson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.

Betty Robbins Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Robbins were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Society Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Young officiating. Interment followed in the Society Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Robbins, age 75, entered into the eternal rest of her Lord early Saturday morning, July 13, 2024, at the Forrest General Hospital. Saulters Moore Funeral Home was entrusted with arrangements. The Robbins family received friends one hour before the funeral service, beginning at noon, Tuesday, at Society Hill Baptist Church. Pallbearers included Kelley LeNormand, Cymantha Shellenberger, Mason Robbins, Jenna Robbins, Frank Vice and Frank Vice Jr. Betty Robbins was born on June 6, 1949, in Magee, Mississippi to Walter R. and Margaret Jones Bishop. Mrs. Robbins was a long-time resident of Carson. She and her husband would go on to raise a happy family of six children that would multiply over the years with the addition of in-laws, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Robbins loved the country life and will be remembered for not only growing a yard full of beautiful flowers, but also a vegetable garden of which she fed her family. An animal lover, she also had dogs, chickens and hogs over the years. Mrs. Robbins was a member of Society Hill Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter R. and Margaret Bishop, her husband, Kenneth Terrell Robbins Sr; her daughter, Pamela Robbins; sisters, Patsy Holden, Margaret  Coble, Linda Hester and her brother, Richard Bishop. Her memory will forever be cherished by her daughter, Billie Jo Williamson of Prentiss; sons, Kenny Robbins Jr. (Kathy) of Carson, Mikell Robbins (Kelley) of Palestine, Texas, John Robbins (Nicole) of Sumrall, Daniel Robbins, (Tanya) of Ft. Worth, Texas; brother, Ray Bishop (Nancy) of Magee and her sister, Myrtis Craig (Ed) of Rossville, Georgia. Mrs. Robbins also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
