The 5th Annual Scott and Stephen Jones Memorial Golf Tournament was held this past weekend at the Prentiss Country Club

Thirty-three teams participated in the two-person scramble over Saturday and Sunday.

Stephen Jones was an extremely dedicated member of Prentiss Country Club donating time to do anything he could to make improvements to the club.

At the time of his death in 2009, he was focused on raising money to purchase a zero-turn mower for the club to make it easier for grounds maintenance.

The first tournament was created to raise money to fulfill this wish.

The tournament has since become an annual event with some of the proceeds of the tournament now going to scholarship money given in Stephen and older brother Scott’s memory.

Scott was an avid golfer himself before his death in 1989.

David and Catha have been members of the Prentiss Country Club for  many years and donate their time to the secretarial duties of the club.

David and Catha have a daughter Brooke who also enjoys playing golf with her husband Kane and two sons Landry and Lyndon.

The Prentiss Country Club holds a variety of tournaments throughout the year as well as a weekly Tuesday night scramble.

Please call 601-792-5062 for membership and tournament information.
