Shelby M. “Shake” Coulter Jr.

Graveside services were held May 19, 2014, at Brady Cemetery in Prentiss for Mr. Shelby M. “Shake” Coulter, Jr., who passed away on May 16. Interment immediately followed. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements.

Mr. Jody Thompson officiated. Pallbearers were Jay Thompson, Randy Allen, Mack Stephens and Charles Allen.

Shake Coulter was born on March 9, 1934, in Prentiss, MS. He was the son of Shelby Coulter, Sr. and Hazel Parker Coulter. He served proudly for the US Army during the Korean War. He was the owner of Southern Cleaners in Hattiesburg. He worked at various jobs throughout his career including captain of a boat and a tour bus driver for Quick Bus Lines from Virginia to D.C. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his daughter, Janet Thompson (Jody) of Hattiesburg; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Mary Parker Wilson of Nashville, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Ginger J. Coulter.
