Entertainment for the second annual 4th of July Fireworks Celebration in Prentiss is now being planned by members of Unity in the Community.
The celebration will take place in the park between 6:00-9:00p.m. on Friday, July 4th, with the fireworks display to be held at the conclusion of the celebration.
Any individuals, civic, or church groups who would like to provide entertainment during this community event are asked to contact the persons listed below by June 26th.
Dancing, singing, praise groups, mime acts, musical groups, or any individuals who have a desire to share their talents with our local community are welcomed.
A special request is being sent out to all musicians in our county in hopes that an individual performer or a musical group would be willing to play popular patriotic songs for a community sing-a-long.
Members of the Unity in the Community are also selling chances for a Lifetime Charcoal Grill and accessories with proceeds from the sales to promote the fireworks celebration.
“Last year’s event was a huge success. We would like to double it this year and promote well-being in the community,” said Community member John Wayne Tolar.
The grill and accessories were donated by SCCI, Speights Cash & Carry, Walmart of Columbia and M.G. Dyess.
Chances on the grill are $5 each and can be purchased from Unity in the Community members. The winner will be drawn during the July 4th celebration.
You do not have to be present to win.
Please help make this celebration of our nation’s birthday a special event by contacting either of the following entertainment coordinators before June 26th: Judy Cole (765-2318) or Mary Ann Hudson (792-9617).
