Funeral services were held Friday, June 6, 2014, at Saulters Moore Chapel in Prentiss for Mrs. Mattie Lois Berry who passed away on June 4. Interment immediately followed at Calvary Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements.

Rev. Tim McCaffrey and Rev. Tommy Thurman officiated. Pallbearers were Mark Herbert, Wayne Bass, Brandon Fortenberry, Zach Berry, Zane Berry and Brian Courtney.

Mattie was born on December 21, 1932, in Arm, MS. She was the daughter of Dewey Myers and Rosie Thurman Myers. She was a devoted member of Monticello Baptist Church in Monticello. Prior to moving to Monticello, she was a longtime resident of Prentiss, and worked at the Prentiss Baptist Church day care center for 15 years.

She is survived by her husband, James Earl Berry of Monticello; one son, David Berry of Sumrall; three daughters, Debbie Fortenberry of Silver Creek, Darlene Herbert of Monticello and Dorothy Berry of Monticello; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
