Child attacked by pit bull in JDC

A child is seriously injured in yet another pit bull attack, right here in Jefferson Davis County.
Jefferson Davis County Sheriff’s Department Detective John Wayne Tolar said a four-year-old boy was attacked Sunday evening shortly after 5 p.m.
The incident happened off Donaldson Road in the western part of the county.
Sources told The Headlight the child was reluctant to approach the dog, but eventually did after being persuaded by his father.
The pit bull caused severe injuries to the child’s face.
At 8 p.m. Sunday evening the child was undergoing surgery at Forest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, the dog was seized and is in quarantine.
The investigation into this attack is ongoing.
