Beat 5 barn struck by lightning

The building that housed Beat 5 Supervisor Bobby Rushing’s supplies was struck by lightning Sunday during an afternoon storm. Fire, smoke and water heavily damaged the building causing a total loss. Lightning also struck Beat 1 Supervisor Corky Holliman’s building next door, but caused no structural damage. The buildings are located just outside of town on Highway 13 North.
