Funeral services were held Monday, July 28, 2014, at Good Deeds Community Center, Gulfport, for Mr. Lamont Daniel Hayes, age 42, who died Thursday, July 23 in Gulfport. Interment followed in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Silver Creek. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Lamont Hayes was born to Lonnie Joe and Iola Hayes in Oakvale, MS. He was educated in the Harrison County Schools District, graduating from Harrison Central High School in 1992. He was employed by Mississippi Concrete Cutting as a subcontractor and also worked as a longshoreman on the Mississippi Gulf Coastal Piers. He was a member of Church on the Rock Ministries in Expose.

He is survived by wife, Jennifer Hayes of Gulfport; children, Trevion and Xavier Hayes both of Atlanta, GA, Isiah Hayes of Nashville, TN, Sariah Beecera of Phoenix, AZ, Kyre and Noah Hayes both of Gulfport; parents, Iola and Willie McGown of Silver Creek and Lonnie Joe Hayes of Gulfport; two brothers, Leon Hayes of Gulfport and Tarrance Brown of Colubia; six sisters, JoAnn (Micheal) Bennett of Gulfport, Trina (Charles) Kimbrough of Monticello, Felicia Hayes of Silver Creek, Rotunda Montgomery and Kizzy Hayes both of Indianapolis, IN, and Brandi McGowan of Hattiesburg; many other relatives and friends.
