Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at Green Grove MB Church for Mrs. Celestine McDonald who died September 29 at her residence. Pastor Zandra L. McDonald officiated the internment following in the Green Grove Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Celestine McDonald was born to the late Joe and Gladys Ball. She was a member of Green Grove MB Church She moved to Detroit, Michigan, and later to California. She met and married the late Billie McDonald and to this union, two children were added. After moving back to Prentiss, MS, she reunited with Green Grove MB Church.
She is preceded in death by two siblings, Bennie Jean Wite and Etta Jean Ball.
She is survived by her children, Frederick (LaShaela) McDonald of Carson, Chad McDonald of College Park, Georgia, Zandra McDonaldof Lithonia of Georgia, Justin Shamburger of Monrovia CA, and Michale Ball of Prentiss; sisters and brothers, Johnny (Dorthy) Ball of New Orleans, LA, Major (Ruby) Ball of Prentiss, Rosie Lee Magee of Detroit, MI, Albert  (Jessie) Ball of Jackson, Joyce Hicks of Prentiss, Christine Myers of Prentiss, Joe (Ernestine) Ball of Prentiss, Wanda (Willie) Ard of Prentiss, Wanda (Jimmy) Moore of Prentiss ,Linda Faye (Charles) Loftin of Jackson, and Larry Ball of Monroe Valley; in-laws, Charles (Geneva) Jones of Hattiesburg, Willie Ruth (Sonny) Sanders of Meridian, Jessie Ruth (Tommy) of Altadena, CA; godchildren, Gloria Howard of Duarte,CA, Stephanie Ball of Decatur, GA, Victoria Martin of Dallas, TX; special friend, Dimple (James) Moreland of Prentiss; and a host of neices, nephews, cousins, and friends.
