Graveside services were held Wednesday, October 1, 2014, at Bethel Cemetery in Bassfield for Carolyn Breeland, age 64, who passed away on September 28 at Forest General Hospital. Interment immediately followed. Saulters Moore Funeral Services of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements. Rev. Valton Douglas officiated.
Carolyn was born on July 6, 1950, in Marion County, MS. She was the daughter of Elby Broom and Vera Tagert Broom. She worked as a schoolteacher for the public school system. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Charles V. Bennette of Sumral;brother, Darwin Broom of Bassfield;  grandson, James (Joanna) Entrican of Bassfield; 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tanya McRaney and her parents, Elby and Vera Broom.
