Clarence Edward Bass

Funeral services were held Saturday, October 11, 2014, at South Pleasant Hill MB Church for Mr. Clarence Edward “Fred” Bass, 59, who died Saturday, October 11, at University of Mississippi Medical Center. Rev. Christopher Moore officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Clarence Bass was born to the late Walter and Dora Bass in Prentiss. He joined South Pleasant Hill MB Church at an early age. He drove trucks for Stewart Brothers for over 40 years of his life. He also raised cattle and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was educated at J.E. High School in Prentiss, MS.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Bass and Jimmy Mallard.
He is survived by three daughters, Yolanda Smith of Gulfport, Ayanna (Izell) Hammond and Malaka Bass of Prentiss; two sisters, Arlena Kylons and Pauline Bass of Prentiss; three brothers, Walter (Bonnie) Bass, Jr. of Gulfport, John (Patricia) Bass and James (Rose) Fair of Prentiss; he raised Latoya and Kendrick Barnes; special friend, Peggy Smith; best friends, Amos Crumbly and Rose Mary Magee; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many other relatives and friends.
