Funeral services were held Saturday, November 1, 2014, at Mt. Zion MB. Church for Mr. Jerry Weathersby, age 65, who died Friday, October 24, at Regency Hospital, Hattiesburg. Rev. Ozell White officiated with interment following in the Griffith Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Jerry Weathersby was born to the late Johnny and Earlene Weathersby in Jefferson Davis County, MS. He attended school at Oakley Elementary and J.E. Johnson High School. He met and married Mary L. Jackson ant to this union, six children were born.
He was employed at KLH Industries, Five County Headstart and Bethel Power Plant.
He was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Weathersby; brother, Markus Weathersby.
He is survived by wife, Mary L. Weathersby; five children, Jackie (Carl) McNair, Terry Weathersby both of Prentiss, MS; Tara (Alvin) Hill of Magee, MS; Gregory (Melinda) Walker and MarKus (Tisha) Weathersby both of Hattiesburg, MS; two sisters, Denis Morrow and Andrea Weathersby-Williams; one brother, Contreal Weathersby; fourteen grandchildren; special niece, Carla Jones; seven great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
