Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home Chapel for Mr. Darron Lavon Oatis, 44, who died Tuesday, November 25, Southern Regional Hospital, Jonesboro, GA. Rev. Dorian Oatis officiated with interment following in the Green Grove MB Church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.

He attended Prentiss Elementary and Prentiss High School. After graduating in 1988, he worked at Xavier for many years before moving to Atlanta, Georgia. He resided there 20 years until his death. He owned his own painting company.

He is survived by parents, Wince and Mary Oatis; sister, Zandra (Darren) Holloway; and two nephews, Antoine and Zachary Oatis all of Prentiss, MS; special cousin, Shirley Johnson; special friend, Leetoya Simmons of Jonesboro, GA; many other relatives and friends.
