Funeral services were held Saturday, December 6, 2014, at Christ Temple Church of Christ Holiness, USA for Mr. Larry Lavern Baker, 57, who died Monday, December 1, at Jeff Davis Community Hospital. Rev. Clarence Dorsey officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Larry Baker was born in Oakvale, Mississippi to Mr. David and Mrs. Dixie L. Baker. He attended Prentiss Elementary, Prentiss High School and Prentiss Institute. He joined the Christ Temple Holiness Church at an early age. He resided in the Oakvale Community; worked as a logger and manager of the family owned logging business.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Lash Larue, Moses and Timothy Baker.

He is survived by two daughters, Deborah Ann of New Orleans, LA, and Shira Cameron of Gulfport, MS; parents, David L. and Dixie L. Baker of Oakvale, MS; three brothers, David, Jr., Lymon and Michael Baker of Oakvale, MS; eight sisters, Carolyn Crane of Miami, FL, Margorie Harper of Oakvale, MS, Karen Deloach of Radcliff, KY, Annette Johnson of Rochester, NY, and Sandra Tyler of Gulfport, MS, Sheekela Yeboah of Waltham, MA, Michelle Carr of Woodbridge, VA, and Mesheba Johnson Baker of Brandon, MS; friend, Julie Cameron; many other relatives and friends.
