Funeral services were held Saturday, December 20, 2014 at North Pleasant Hill M. B. Church for Mrs. Letha Mae Smith Moore, 89, who died Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Regency Hospital, Hattiesburg, MS. Rev. Moses Johnson officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Letha Mae Moore was born to the late Joe Hilbert and Mary Berry Smith in Lawrence County. She attended Cherry Hill School and joined North Pleasant Hill M. B. Church at an early age. She was marred to the late Garfield Moore and to this union, 13 children were born.

Mrs. Moore was a member of the Senior Choir, Assistant Sunday School teacher, member of the Home Mission and the Vocal Choir.

She is survived by son, Homer Lee Moore of New Hebron, MS; two daughters, Martha Miller of Houston, TX, and Minnie Moore of New Hebron, MS; three godsons, Rev. Sam Fisher and Rev. Melvin Prince both of Houston, TX, and Kenneth Moore of New Hebron, MS; three goddaughters, Fannie Moore and Dorothy LaPointe both of New Hebron, MS, and Felishia Daniels of Houston, TX; 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Catherine Smith of New Hebron, MS; many other relatives and friends.
