James M. Graves, Jr.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Friendship MB Church in Collins, for James (Buck) Monroe Graves, Jr., age 62, who died Saturday, December 21, at Jeff Davis Community Hospital. Rev. Earnest Thompson officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. James Graves, Jr. was born to the late James Monroe Graves, Sr. and Lula Jane McClelland Graves in Collins, MS.

He was a member of Friendship MB Church and remained a member until death. He attended school at Collins Elementary and Carver High. He graduated from Carver High School in 1971. He was employed with Magnetek Manufacturing in Mendenhall until he retired in 1997.

He was married to Dora L. Gholar.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Laura (Jim) Magee; niece, Raphaella Hartfield; nephew, Dr. Christopher (Kinyatta) Bennett, I.

He is survived by special friend, Cora Jean Keys and the Keys family; four daughters, Donna (Micheal) Taylor of Houston, TX, Teresa A. Gholar of Braxton, Sadelia Echols of Bassfield, and Sherri S. Graves of Braxton; four brothers, Bruce Graves of Collins, Elnathan Graves, Richard Graves and Demetrious (Kim) Graves all of Gulfport; three sisters, Kather (Samuel) Sims, Dian (Robert) Lee and Queen Graves all of Gulfport; 10 grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
