Funeral services were held Monday, January 5, 2015, at Saulters Moore Chapel in Prentiss for Mrs. June Earlene Brown, age 83, who passed away on January 1 at her residence in Florence. Interment followed at New Hebron Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements.

Rev. Terry Phillips officiated. Pallbearers were Don Neal, Cecil Dees, Reid Brown, William Boykin, Gauge Brown and Kenny Brown.

June was born on May 22, 1931, in Simpson County, MS. She was the daughter of J.C. Fortenberry and Bernice Berry. She worked as a secretary for MS Steel for 15 years and Lindsey Wire Company for over 12 years. She was a member of Old Hebron Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Tommy Brown of New Hebron; three daughters, Martha Dean of Florence, Marsha Mallett of Braxton and Barbara Haddox of Houston, MS; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Her parents, husband, one grandchild and two sisters preceded her in death.
