Jimmy W. Luper

Funeral services were held January 22, 2015, at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss for Mr. Jimmy William Luper, age 83, of Prentiss, who passed away January 19 at Covington County Hospital in Collins. Interment followed at Whitesand Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss handled arrangements.
Rev. Charles Burnham and Rev. Billy Bridges officiated. Pallbearers were Jeff Harper, Ronnie McNease, Michael Grubbs, Joey Stennett, D.T. Luper, and Bear Bridges.
Mr. Jimmy Luper was born October 5, 1931. He was the son of the late Gaston and Idelle McNease Luper. He was a Mason and worked as a plumber for Lampton Love Butane Co. in Jackson for 25 years. He was a member of Whitesand Baptist Church.
He is survived by one daughter, Celeste Thornton and husband, Leonard, of Prentiss; one son, Mitchell Cranford of Lousiville, KY; one brother Donald Luper of Pinola; two sisters, Peggy Stennett of Magee and Patsy Harper of Mt. Olive; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Hazel Luper; and a daughter, Robin Luper McCullough.
