Funeral services were held February 28, 2015, at Prentiss First MB Church for Mr. Shawn Johnson, 51, who died February 18 at Gulfport Memorial Hospital, Gulfport. Rev. Ronald Barnes officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Shawn Johnson was born to the late Ollie Mae and Julius O. Johnson. He graduated from Prentiss High School in 1980 and attended Jackson State University. He was a very good athlete playing on the Prentiss Tiger Basketball and Air Force Basketball Team.

He was preceded in death by brother, Jimmie C. Johnson and granddaughter, Bailey Gibson.

He is survived by wife, Jane Johnson; son, Timothy Rancifer of Hattiesburg;three daughters, Keiedda and Breanna Carter both of Hattiesburg, and Janiece Carter of Gulfport; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Kathryn Washington (Keane) of Prentiss and Bridgett (John) Kennedy of Magee; brother, Julian P. Johnson of Prentiss; many other relatives and friends.
