Chamber Partnership Banquet

The Jefferson Davis County Chamber Partnership held their annual banquet Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at the Rosenwald Building in Prentiss.

Guest speaker was Benjamin Prestridge, Pearl River District Manager of Mississippi Power Company.

Tracy Waits surprised Janie Winscott by presenting her with  the 2014 Citizen of the Year award.

At the conclusion of the evening, Partnership Director Ben Hamby presented Business of the Year awards to two outstanding businesses in the county: South Central Construction, Inc., and Prentiss Financial Services.

This year’s STAR student from Prentiss Christian School was Peyton Dungan. STAR student awards are presented to the senior with the highest ACT score.

Holley Cochran / The Prentiss Headlight-Peyton Dungan was named Prentiss Christian School's STAR student. Peyton scored a 29 on the ACT and is planning to attend Mississippi State University in the fall. Peyton chose his advanced math teacher, Headmaster Danny Quick, as STAR teacher. Peyton is the son of Les and Carla Dungan of Prentiss. He is pictured with Prentiss Christian Assistant Headmaster Kevin Walker and Partnership Administrator Jerleen White.
