Wilburn “Will” Benton

Funeral services were held Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Saulters Moore Chapel in Prentiss, for Wilburn Blann Benton who passed away on March 12 at his residence in Prentiss. Interment followed at Antioch Cemetery in Prentiss. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements.

Rev. Butch Harmon and Rev. Vernon Terrell officiated. Pallbearers were Chance Holloway, Randy Holloway, Stacy Benton, Brad Bridges, Matthew Graves and James Earl Stephens.

“Will” was born on February 4, 1954, in Mendenhall, MS. He was the son of J.D. Benton and Fairy Cole. He was an owner and operator of his trucking company for 30 years. He was a volunteer fireman for Granby and a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Benton of Prentiss; one son, Stacy Benton of Houston, TX; one daughter, Rachelle Benton of Katy, TX; two stepsons, Drew Evans of Brandon and Blake Evans of McKinney, TX; one stepdaughter, Anna Phillips of Pensacola, FL; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Winfred Benton of Prentiss and Wayne Benton of Houston, TX; and one sister, Virginia Barten of Alexandria, MN.

His parents, one sister and one brother preceded him in death.
