Funeral services were held March 22, 2015, at Crooked Creek Baptist Church for Mrs. Maudine Pope, age 87, of Monticello who passed away March 20 at the Lawrence County Nursing Center in Monticello. Interment followed in Cliburn Cemetery.

Rev. Willie Martin officiated. Pallbearers were: Gary McNease, William Johnson, Kenneth McAllister, Steve McAllister, Aaron McAllister and Zack McNease.

Maudine Pope was born March 3, 1928, in Jefferson Davis County, MS. She was the daughter of Freddie and Fannie Robbins Ward. She was a seamstress and a member of Crooked Creek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Pope is survived by daughter, Rachel Ashcraft of Clinton; sons, Jimmie McAllister of Carson, Gerald McAllister and Douglas McAllister, both of Silver Creek; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Her parents, three husbands, two brothers, and three sisters preceded her in death.

Saulters Moore Funeral Home handled all arrangements.
