Ivory Lois Newsome

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at South Pleasant Hill MB Church for Mrs. Ivory Lois Newsome, 70, who died Friday, April 10, at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, MS. Rev. Robert Collins officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Newsome was born to the late Lessie and Emma Mae Randolph Jackson in Jefferson Davis County, MS. She was a member of South Pleasant Hill MB Church and attended school at J.E. Johnson High School.
She was married to the late Andrew Newsome. She was a former laborer at Magnetek Manufacturing. Later, she worked at Song Health and Rehabilitation Nursing Home in Columbia. She was preceded in death by: two sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by son, Altone (Mirah) Scale; two grandsons all of Hattiesburg; five sisters, Annie Bourne, Catherine (Luther) Taylor of Gulfport, Irene (Minister Shelby) Brown of Moss Point, Shirley Jackson, Betty (Ellie, Jr.) Stringer of Prentiss; many other relatives and friends.
