Mercie B. McCormick

Mrs. Mercie B. McCormick, 92, died Thursday, June 4, 2015, at the Grove Nursing Home in Columbia. Memorial services for Mrs. McCormick were held on Saturday, June 13, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Prentiss, with Brother Mike Pack officiating. Laird Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. McCormick was the daughter of the late James Graham and the late Anna Griffith Graham of Mt. Olive.

In 1945 Mrs. McCormick married the late Robert G. McCormick and to this union five children were born. Mrs. McCormick was a hard working homemaker, and a loving mother, that was well known for her cooking, especially her pineapple cake. In addition to being an outstanding homemaker, Mrs. McCormick was an excellent storyteller, and had a wonderful sense of humor.

In 1975 Mrs. McCormick became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, and loved telling others about Jehovah until her death.

Mrs. McCormick’s survivors include five children, Jimmye Tate, Bobbie McCormick, CeCelia Jones, Princess (Phillip) Reese, and David (Marie) McCormick; two grandchildren, Shawn Jones and Todd Jones, and other relatives and friends.
