Robert George Horning

Funeral services were held Saturday July 25, 2015, at Greens Creek Baptist Church in Carson, for Mr. Robert George Horning, age 70, who passed away July 23 at the Jefferson Davis County Hospital in Prentiss.

Rev. Terry Wallace officiated. Interment followed at Greens Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dusty Jenkins, C.J. Jenkins, Ethan Jenkins, James Earl Stephens, Jonathan Henry and Robert Earl Stephens.

Robert was born October 23, 1944, in New Orleans, LA. He was the son of Clarence Horning and Zoila Ballestas. He worked for 45 years as a meat cutter in a number of stores from New Orleans, LA, Brookhaven, MS, Prentiss, MS, and Magee, MS. His passions in life were being a good husband to Louise, singing and sharing his love of the Lord whenever he met you.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Horning of Prentiss; three daughters, Donna Stephens (James Earl) of Prentiss, Rebecca Ann Henry (James) of Silver Creek, and Ashley Horning of Prentiss; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Henry of Thomasville, AL, Robert Earl Stephens, Christopher Stephens, Dylan Stephens, and Gavin Horning, all of Prentiss, Brandon and Anthony Henry of Silver Creek; four brothers, Edward Horning of Prentiss, Stanley Horning of Franklinton, LA, Charles Horning of Lexington, KY, and Johnny Horning of Raceland, LA; three sisters, Mary Hester of Hammond, LA, Carmen Fowler of Metairie, LA, and Lola Ann Sniff of Chattanooga, TN.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Saulters-Moore Funeral Services of Prentiss handled all arrangements.
