Funeral services were held Saturday, August 8, 2015, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Mt. Olive, MS, for Jamie Diane Thompson Griffith who passed away on August 5, in Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements.
Rev. Trent Sullivan and Rev. Billy Bridges officiated. Pallbearers were Simmien Langston, Blake Lee, Stephen Berry, Jason Lee, Jimmy Butler, John Hux and Zack Hux.
Jamie was born on November 18, 1951, in Magee, MS. She was the daughter of James Earl Walker and Louise Holmes Walker. She retired as a cafeteria manager for Lawrence County School after 24 years of service. She was an Eastern Star and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Griffith of Mt. Olive, MS; her son Wes Thompson of New Hebron, MS; two daughters, Melissa Langston of Oakvale, MS, and Nikki Lee of New Hebron, MS; five grandchildren; four sisters, Edna Earl Beard of Bolton, MS, Patsy Turner of Collins, MS, Mary Shoemake of Petal, MS, and Wendy Bridges of New Hebron, MS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, one sister and one grandson.
