Jimmy Fails

Funeral services were held Thursday, August 6, 2015, at St. Peters Catholic Church in Bassfield, MS, for Mr. James Edward “Jimmy” Fails, age 91, who passed away August 3, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS.

Father’s Mike and Peter and Deacon Bob officiated. Interment followed at St. James Cemetery. Pallbearers were Shawn Fails, James Fails, Joseph Fails, Anthony Fails, Shae Waldrip, Kolby Waldrip, Scott Harvey, Braden Harvey, Cody Davis and Lee Kirby.

Jimmy was born January 3, 1924, in D’Lo, MS. He was the son of William Arley Fails and Virdue Cockrell Fails. He was a senior manager of construction for Fluor Corp. for 29 years, traveling all over the world. He was a devoted husband and family man and a loyal backer of Bassfield football.

He is survived by four sons, Dan (Charlotte), Sid (Vicky), Phil (Margie) and Mark (Laura) all of Bassfield; two daughters, Gail Prentice and Rose (Bobby) Davis both of Bassfield;17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice; son, Fred; one granddaughter, Bridget; two brothers; and one sister.

Saulters Moore Funeral Services of Prentiss handled all arrangements.
