Funeral services were held Friday, August 28, 2015, at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss, MS, for Mr. Shannon Newton Dyess, age 79, who passed away on August 25 at Regency Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. Interment followed in Dublin Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements.

Rev. Robert Sones and Dr. Nathan Barber officiated. Pallbearers were Bradley Dyess, Austin Hamilton, Mason Dyess, Colby Dyess, John Lee and Gordon Cole

Shannon was born April 12, 1936. He was the son of Jasper Dyess and Ordna Cole Dyess. He worked as a tool pusher off shore for 45 years. He was a member of Dublin Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Foye Dyess of Bassfield, MS; his daughter, Wanda Hamilton of Prentiss, MS; two sons, Tony Dyess of Mandeville, LA, and Dan Dyess of Carson, MS; his stepdaughter, Bridget Lee of Columbia, MS; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Charlie Merle Cranford of Prentiss, MS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one brother and one sister.
