Donnie Ree Gray McInnis

Funeral services were held Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Point Pleasant M.B. Church, Mt. Olive, Mississippi, for Mrs. Donnie Ree Gray McInnis, 69, who died Wednesday, September 2, at her residence. Rev. James Harrell officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Donnie Ree McInnis was born to the late Sadie Rushing and Gulf Martin. She grew up in the Mt. Carmel Community and attended the Mt. Carmel Public School. Later in life, she united with the late Boyce Gray and moved to the Point Pleasant Community; seven children were born to this union.
She worked for several years as a cook at Magee Elementary School and Western Sizzlin Restaurant.
She later married Mr. Lester McInnis and moved to Magee, Mississippi.
Mrs. McInnis was preceded in death by one son, Dwight Gray; grandmother, Marie Durr.
She is survived by husband, Lester McInnis of Magee, MS; eight children, Sonja (Wilbert) Gray-Cobb and Toni Gray both of Mt. Olive, Tracie (Adrian) Smith of Prentiss, two step-daughters, Leslie and Lessa McInnis both of Magee, Marvin (Sarah) Gray of Jackson, Kelvin (Syril) Gray of Poplarville, and Boyce Gray, Jr. of Mt. Olive; step-mother, Elizabeth Martin of Prentiss; sisters, Sherry (John) Hooker, Roberta (James) Ball, Kathy Rushing of Byram, Serterdia (Kenneth) Logan of Jackson; five brothers, James Ball of Moss Point, Calvin Rushing, Gulf (Shelia) Martin and Bobby Martin all of Prentiss, Lester (Loretta) Martin of Florida; special sister-in-law, Julia Faye Weathersby of Mt. Olive; 19 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
