Funeral services were held Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Sweetwater C. M. E. Church for Mr. Elbert Price, Jr., 68, who died Friday, September 11, 2015 at Forrest General Hospital. Rev. Nathaniel Lias, Sr., pastor, officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Elbert Price, Jr. was born to the late Elbert Price, Sr. in Prentiss, Mississippi. He was a member of Sweetwater C. M.E. Church where he served as Class Leader until his death. He attended Carver High School in Bassfield, where he was active in basketball and football. He was employed with Sanderson’ Farm for 38 years until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by: sister, Joyce Price Holiday.

He is survived by: wife, Sarah Price of Prentiss, MS; two sons, Gerald (Evoyal) Price of Carrolton, VA and Benjamin (Sandra) Price of Newport News, VA; stepson, Kevin (Shay) Barnes of Hattiesburg, MS; two daughters, DiAnne (Blairey) McCloud of Sumrall, MS and Carolyn (Milton) Williams of Shivers, MS; stepdaughter, Tomekka (Ro) Jones of Collins, MS; 12 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
