Mass of Christian burial was held Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at St. Peters Catholic Church in Bassfield, for Mrs. Audrey Sylvest, age 80, who passed away on September 28 at The Extended Care Facility in Prentiss, MS. Interment followed at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Carson. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements.

Father Peter Varghese and Deacon Bob Everard officiated. Pallbearers were Charlie Herrington, Mickie Sylvest, Joe Kerley, Pat Daley, David Kerley and Jimmy Harris.

Audrey was born March 4, 1935, in Jefferson Davis County, MS. She was the daughter of Louis James Kerley and Madeline Daley Kerley. She was a homemaker and also worked as a bus driver for Five County for 10 years. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kim Courtney of Monticello and Karen Kirby of Carnes; three sons, Keith Sylvest of Pensacola, FL, Keven Sylvest of Bassfield, MS, and Karl Sylvest of Hattiesburg, MS; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Armstrong of Bassfield, MS.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers.
