Funeral services were held Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Outreach Fellowship Revival Center, Prentiss, Mississippi, for Attorney Michael Earl Robinson, age 44, who died Friday, October 2, in Jackson, MS. Rev. Jessie Holloway, pastor, officiated with interment following in Green Grove MB Church Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Attorney Michael Robinson was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to the late Willie and Annie Robinson. He was reared, baptized and accepted Christ at Green Grove MB Church under the leadership of Pastor B. L. Shelby.
His early education began at Prentiss Elementary and he graduated from Prentiss High School in 1989. He continued his education at Jackson State University receiving a Bachelor’s degree in accounting in 1993. Following his dream to become an attorney, he received his Juris Doctorate degree from Ole Miss School of Law in 1993. He later became a member of Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where he was married to the former Paheadra Bratton and to this union three children were born.
He began his legal career practicing with Ferr Smith & Associates in Canton, MS. He later became a partner in the firm of Smith, Rushing, Cotton & Robinson. He concluded his career as a solo practioner having established the Law Offices of Michael E. Robinson, Esquire. During his years of practice, Michael was a member of the Magnolia Bar Association, the Madison County Bar Association and Rural Water Association.
Attorney Robinson was an avid sportsman and big fan of Jackson State University Tigers, New York Yankees, and the Dallas Cowboys. He joined the Blue Bengal Athletic Association and later JSU Tiger Fund and the JSU Tailgaters.
He is preceded in death by brother, Billy J. Robinson; sisters, Sandra Robinson and Sondra Coleman; grandfathers, John Robinson and Lawrence Turner; grandmothers, Ollie Hill and Leola Edwards.
He is survived by children, Kameron, Kristopher and Khloe Robinson; their mother, Paheadra; mother, Annie Robinson; sisters, Andrea Robinson, Jacqueline Hawthorne, Barbara (Jerry) Gholar, Tierra Robinson, Brenda Calvin, Madeline (Ricky) Ferrell, Debra Stamps and Yolanda Myers; brothers, Kenneth Horton, Michael (Felicia) Ball, Milton (Lou Ann) Oatis and Gregory (Denise) Oatis; friend, Steve Adams; four uncles; 10 aunts; many other relatives and friends.
