Mr. Earl Jefferson, Jr. 76, died Wednesday November 4,2015 at his home in rural Jefferson Davis County. Services for Mr. Jefferson were held on Saturday November 14, 2015 at Progress Church of God and Christ, with Elder Thad (Randy) Polk officiating. Interment was in the Church’s Cemetery, with Laird Mortuary, LLC in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jefferson was the son of the late Johnny Jefferson and the late Lucille Ishman of rural Jefferson Davis County. At a young age he joined the South Pleasant Hill Church and remained a faithful member. Mr. Jefferson attended J. E. Johnson High School and in 1987 he married the former Earlene Barnes of Prentiss. Mr. Jefferson’s survivors include his wife Earlene B. Jefferson of Prentiss; two step-daugters,Catherine Hartzog Gibbs of Laurel, and Tasha (Donald) Trautman of Gulfport; one sister, Willie Jean Wyms of St. Louis, MO; one brother Dan Willie Ishman of St. Louis, MO; one brother-in-law, George Barnes of Gulfport; and four step-grandchildren.
