Memorial services were held Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home for Mr. Phillip Travis, 65, who died on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Forrest General Hospital, Hattiesburg, MS.  Rev. Eskiar Rhodes officiated.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Phillip Travis was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Willie B. Copeland Travis.  He was the third of four children.  He was reared by his uncle and aunt, Gentleman and Rosie Copeland in Silver Creek, MS.  He was a member of Pleasant Grove M. B. Church.

Mr. Travis was married to the late Olivia “Honey” Johnson Travis; to this union, no children were born.

He is survived by three brothers, Ronald Brown of New Orleans, LA; Curtis Travis of Chicago, IL and Melvin Travis of Las Vegas, NV; two aunts, Rosie Garnet and Dorothy Blakely both of Gulfport, MS; one uncle, Owen Blakely of Houma, LA; special cousins, Rose Mackey and the Mackey family and Chester Copeland.  Special friends, Kenneth Warner and Eileen Carter, Elvena Bryant and Doretha Bryant.
