She is survived by her two daughters, Jett Harvey Leake (Lawrence) and Trudy Harvey Griffin (Alan), both of Ocean Springs; four grandchildren, Kelly Alexandra Leake, Logan Mataoka Leake, Kirk Stinson (Michelle) and Ashly McCloskey (Luke). Mrs. Williams is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents and also her siblings Vernon Griffith, Howard Griffith and Margie Griffith Sherman.  She was also preceded in death by her first husband of 26 years, Edward Harvey of Tylertown, Mississippi.

After Mr. Harvey’s death, she married Jack G. Williams of Prentiss, Mississippi. They celebrated 30 years of marriage before his death in 2005.

While in Tylertown she was a member of Dinan Baptist Church and later moved her letter to Whitesand Baptist Church when she moved to Prentiss.

She owned Polly’s Dress Shop in Tylertown for many years.

During her years in Prentiss, she managed J&P services, an oil service business she owned with her husband Jack.  She loved to travel and Hawaii always remained her favorite destination.

She was an avid gardener, whether it was her flower garden or her vegetable garden and that is where you would find her early in the mornings. If you were lucky enough to share a meal that Polly had prepared, you wouldn’t soon forget it. Her meals were spectacular, true farm to table cuisine. She was a loving and giving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she will be truly missed.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Ocean Springs Hospital, The  Garden’s staff and Saad Hospice for the professional and personal care that was provided to mom.

A graveside service for immediate family was held at Elliott Cemetery in Tylertown as per her wishes on December 22, 2015.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that you consider making a contribution to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for children. Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
