Mr. Charles Edward Bass, 55, died Thursday afternoon December 24, 2015, at the Touro Hospital in New Orleans, LA. Services for Mr. Bass were held on Saturday January 2, 2016, at Progress M. B. C. with Pastor Roy Thompson of Spring Hill M. B. Church officiating. Interment was in the Sweetwater Church cemetery, with Laird Mortuary in charge of arrangements. ‘

Mr. Bass was the son of the late Willie J. Bass and the late Lillie Mae Johnson Bass of Lake Charles, LA. As a young man, Mr. Bas$ attended Bassfield High School, and graduated from the U. S. Job Corp as a certified painter. Mr. Bass then moved to Kenner, LA, to seek employment.

Mr. Bass’ survivors include his daughter LakeishaAlfred of Kenner, LA; three brothers, Willie Bass, Jr. Sedrlc Bass, both of Kenner, LA and Keith Bass of Hattiesburg; eight sisters, Janice Bass, Catherine Sanders, both of Chicago, IL, Suboria (Johnny) Hinton, Linda (Curtis) Logan, Sharon (Michael) Hammond, all of Bassfield, Ruthie (Wendell) Magee of Prentiss, Rhonda McNair of Gulfport and Patrica (Greg) Martin of Hattiesburg; a number of other relatives and friends.
