Gaye Dyess Polk, age 88 of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2016 in Columbia. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Polk is preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Polk; a daughter, Angela Renee Pittman; a grandson, David Klay Pittman; and her parents, R.C. and Dovie Dyess. She is survived by three daughters, Cynthia Morgan and husband Sonny of Edwards, MS, Bobbie Ann Clark, and Phyllis Broome and her husband Tommy, all of Carson, MS; two sisters, Dicy Dyess and her husband Hugh of Carson, and Margie Dear and her husband Johnny of Brandon, MS; two brothers, Raymond Dyess and his wife Fredna of Brandon, and Neal Dyess and his wife Paulette of Pelahatchie, MS; eleven grandchildren, Jason Morgan and his wife Paige of Vicksburg, MS, Todd Morgan and his wife Christie of Eagle Lake, MS, Trey Morgan and his wife Chanda of Madison, MS, Candice Thomas and her husband, Jody of Kokomo, Cody Clark and his wife Kerri of Petal, MS, Cadie Clark of Carson, Cory Clark of Opelika, AL, Joseph Broome and his wife Lindsay of Nashville, TN, Olivia Broome of New York, NY, Dusty Pittman and his wife Karen of Columbia, and Derek Pittman and his wife Kylie of Baton Rouge, LA; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Friday, January 8, 2016 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm at Colonial Funeral Home in Columbia.

Funeral services were held at the funeral home on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 2:00pm and officiated by Rev. Mark McArthur. Interment was in Greens Creek Cemetery.
