Memorial Services for Vernon Duane Daniel were held Saturday, January 9, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Vale Baptist Church. Memorial gathering was from 12:00 p.m .until time of service at the church.

Vernon Duane Daniel, 72, of Oak Vale, died January 6, 2016 at Lawrence County Hospital. He was born August 6, 1943 to John William “J.W.” Daniel and Yvonne Grice Daniel. He was a driller in the oilfield industry and he also worked as a poultry farmer. He was a member of Oak Vale Baptist Church. Mr. Daniel was a Mason and was on the Lawrence County Hospital Board of Trustees for 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Rita Daniel; daughters, Deidrea Wilson, Dana Andrews and husband Patrick; brothers, John T. Daniel, Delos Ray Daniel; sister, Betty Durr; 5 grandchildren, Nickolas Smith and wife Amanda, Gunner Andrews and wife Marley; Madison Andrews, Beowulf Wilson, Isabelle Wilson; and also 2 great grandchildren.
