When asked the reason for his quest, he answered with one word, “hope”.

Upon further explanation, he stated, “I want to reach the young generation with hope. I don’t feel like they are getting what they need.

I became real discouraged as a pastor. Going through the same routines was not getting anyone anywhere.

So I’m out here offering hope. I pray for people. You wouldn’t believe the people that stop and just want me to pray for them, with them.

Several have been saved right on the on the side of the road with me,” he added.

Epp and his wife camped at Jeff Davis Lake while making the trek through this area.

His wife, Saundra, picks him up for meals and breaks then brings him right back out to continue his expedition.

Epp estimates it will take him roughly a year and a half to complete his journey that began in June 2015.

“The Lord told me not to get in a hurry. That wasn’t the purpose of this. The purpose is the ministry.

I haven’t been sick a single day. We go home to Tulsa (OK) every three months or so and I rest.”
